KahaniTv is an over-the-top entertainment platform of Creative Frenzy Private Limited (the same company that operates ZeepLive). It offers short dramas, stories, series and related content through our website, mobile applications and other connected services (together, the “Services” or “Platform”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect your information when you access or use KahaniTv. Please read it carefully. It forms part of the KahaniTv Terms and Conditions.

1. Scope and acceptance

By creating an account, accessing or using KahaniTv, you agree that we may collect, use and share your information as described in this Policy, as updated from time to time. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Information is handled under the Policy in force at the time it is collected. We may revise this Policy. Where a change is material, we will, where reasonably practicable, notify you by posting the update on the Platform, in the app, or by other notice, and indicate when it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Policy.

KahaniTv may contain links, plugins, SDKs, login buttons or advertisements from third parties. This Policy does not apply to information collected by third-party websites, apps, payment apps, app stores or advertisers. We bear no liability for third-party use of information you give them.

2. Information you provide and we collect

To operate the Services we may access, collect, store and use:

Information you give us

• Account details when you register: name or display name, mobile number, email address, password or OTP credentials, gender, date of birth or age, city or area, language preference, and profile photo (if you add one).
• Social or device login data if you sign in with Google, Apple, Truecaller or a similar provider (for example name, email, profile photo and a unique login identifier).
• Information you submit to support, feedback forms, contests, surveys or grievance channels.
• Optional profile details you choose to add.

Information from your use of KahaniTv

• Watch and usage data: titles played, progress, completions, searches, likes, follows, watchlist, language and genre preferences, session length and similar interaction data.
• Device and technical data: IP address, device model and identifiers, OS and app version, mobile carrier or connection type, approximate country/region/time zone, user settings, crash and diagnostics logs, and network type.
• Approximate location derived from IP or, only if you grant permission, device location used to localise content, language, pricing, compliance and fraud checks. We do not need precise GPS to stream content.
• Payment and subscription data: plan chosen, purchase and renewal history, invoice metadata, promo or gift codes, and payment status. Card, UPI and wallet credentials are processed by the payment gateway or app store. We do not store full card numbers or CVV on KahaniTv servers.
• Communications with us (emails, in-app tickets, and call recordings if you contact support and are notified).

Permissions on your device

KahaniTv is a streaming service. We request device permissions only where a feature needs them. You may refuse or later withdraw them in device settings (some features may then not work).

• Storage / media (if applicable): to save downloads or cache for offline or smoother playback, where that feature exists.
• Notifications: to send playback, account, subscription and (if you opt in) promotional alerts.
• Camera or photos (optional): only if you choose to set a profile picture. We do not use the camera for live video calling.
• Microphone: not required for ordinary streaming. We do not operate live audio/video calling on KahaniTv.
• Location (optional): only to improve localisation and integrity, as described above.

Cookies, SDKs and similar technologies

On the website and in the apps we and our service providers may use cookies, SDKs, pixels and similar tools to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, prevent fraud, serve or measure ads (if ads are shown), and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies in your browser and certain tracking in device settings. Some features may not work if you block essential cookies.

3. Sensitive personal information

We do not need health, biometric, financial-account passwords or similar sensitive data to stream stories. If a feature ever requires sensitive personal data as defined under applicable Indian law, we will tell you and seek separate consent. We do not use sensitive personal data for direct marketing unless you agree. Payment instruments are handled by regulated payment partners or the relevant app store, not stored in full on our systems. By using KahaniTv, you agree that any processing of sensitive personal data is only for the purposes and in the manner described in this Policy.

4. Children’s information

The Services of KahaniTv are not for anyone under the age of 18, and anyone under 18 may not create a KahaniTv account or use KahaniTv services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will take steps to delete that information from our files as soon as possible.

5. How we use the information we collect

We may use your information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain and improve the Services (including services offered now and those we may offer later on KahaniTv).
• Create and manage your account, verify you (including OTP), and process subscriptions, renewals, refunds and invoices.
• Personalise and improve your experience, including suggested titles, language and catalogue order, and (if applicable) advertisements.
• Respond to inquiries and for customer service, security, archival and backup.
• Monitor and analyse usage and trends of our services.
• Enhance the safety and security of our products and services.
• Verify your identity and prevent fraud or other unauthorised or illegal activity.
• Enforce our Terms of Use and other usage policies.
• Send service messages (receipts, expiry, security). Marketing messages are sent only where permitted and you can opt out.
• Comply with law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT Rules, 2021 (as applicable to online curated content), the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules thereunder, tax and accounting rules, and lawful government or court requests.

If the product allows you to share text, photos, screenshots, comments, ratings or other communications with other users, those items may be stored on our servers. If you share them with others, we may not be able to remove every copy from our servers or from people you shared with. Sharing is your choice. Once shared, you may no longer fully control how that information is used and it may become visible to others. KahaniTv is not responsible for any use or misuse of information you choose to share.

6. Transfer and storage

We operate and may continue to operate servers in a number of jurisdictions around the world, so the server on which your personal information is used and stored may not be in your jurisdiction. You consent to the transfer of your personal information (both inside and outside of your jurisdiction) for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to applicable law including the DPDP Act.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your information is shared as follows.

Sharing on our products

• Public information in your profile can be seen by anyone who can access that profile feature. Do not post personal data that you would not want to be publicly available.
• If a community feature exists, limited usage signals (for example that you follow a title) may be visible according to product settings. KahaniTv does not display a live “active now” calling status.

Sharing with third-party partners

By using KahaniTv, you agree to third-party use, sharing and transfer of your personal information (inside and outside your jurisdiction) as prescribed in this Policy.

1. Measurement partners. We may share information about you in anonymous and/or aggregated form with third parties for usage analytics, industry analysis, research and similar purposes.

2. Partners offering services on KahaniTv. Your information may be accessed by service providers working with us to operate the Services (cloud hosting, content delivery, analytics and crash reporting, customer support, SMS/email/OTP, payment gateways, UPI apps and app-store billing, and advertising or measurement partners if we run ads). They may access your information only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose it or use it for other purposes, except where they act as independent controllers (for example an app store or payment app), in which case their own privacy policy applies.

3. Law enforcement. We may share information if we are (or reasonably believe we are) required by law or legal process (such as a summons, warrant or court order), if we must respond to a lawful request from authorities, or if we need to enforce this Policy, our Terms of Service or other policies.

4. New owner. If we are acquired by a third party or reorganise our group structure, your information may be transferred within our group and/or to a third party who will continue to operate KahaniTv or similar services under this Policy or a different privacy policy which will be notified to you. That party may be located, and may use your information, outside your jurisdiction.

Other than as permitted under this Policy, as consented by you, or as required by law or legal process, we will not transfer your personal information to other third parties for their own processing.

8. Security

We employ administrative, physical and electronic measures designed to protect your information from unauthorised access. No security measure is perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against interception or misuse. If your personal information is compromised as a result of a security breach, we will promptly notify you if required by applicable law.

Where we share your personal information with third parties, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure they use it (i) in compliance with this Policy and (ii) subject to our instructions, including appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

9. How to access your information and your choices

You can access and modify the information you provided to us through your account. If you believe information posted on KahaniTv is not authentic or accurate and can provide reasonable proof, you can require us via the contact information in this Policy to correct it. We will use reasonable efforts to honour the request; we may retain an archived copy as required by law or for record-keeping.

Once your account is closed or deleted, you will no longer have access to watch history, preferences or other information associated with the Services. Even after you remove information from your account, copies may remain viewable elsewhere to the extent it was shared, distributed under your settings, or copied by other users. We will retain personal data after closure if reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations (including law-enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce the Terms of Service. We will retain de-personalised information after your account has been closed.

In some cases we may be unable to update, amend or remove personal information (for example if the request requires disproportionate technical effort, is extremely impractical, or is prohibited by law). We will tell you why.

You may also request deletion of personal data under certain circumstances, subject to exceptions, and opt out of marketing communications. Service and billing messages may still be sent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it. Where the DPDP Act so provides, you may nominate a person to exercise rights in case of death or incapacity by writing to us.

KahaniTv may be used in multiple jurisdictions. If you identify an inconsistency between this Policy and the applicable law in your jurisdiction, please notify us. We will take necessary steps to address it, including deleting personal information improperly collected or used.

We will acknowledge and respond within the timelines required under applicable law (including, where the IT Rules apply, acknowledgement and disposal of grievances in the prescribed period). If you are not satisfied, you may use any statutory remedy available under Indian law, including approaching the Data Protection Board of India when operational for DPDP matters.

11. Disclaimer — nature of the Service and payments

KahaniTv is an entertainment streaming platform for stories, short dramas and similar curated or licensed content. It is not a dating service, live-video calling service, or escort or companion marketplace. Payment gateways, UPI, wallets and app-store billing on KahaniTv are used only to collect fees for subscriptions, rentals, coins or credits (if offered), taxes and similar content-access charges. They are not used to pay other users for dating, companionship or live interactive social services.

12. Governing law

This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer or data-protection forum, courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
